Terms of service

Last updated: August 30, 2026. No legal entity has been registered yet. The operator must supply the entity name, address and jurisdiction before these terms bind anyone. Until then, these terms are a statement of intent and a description of the service as it currently operates.

What this service is

Icontest is a single-shot icon diagnostic tool. It accepts a public URL, fetches the page's HTML, extracts declared icon declarations, and requests each icon URL to report its HTTP status, format, and pixel dimensions. The result is displayed in your browser. There is no account, no saved history, and no ongoing monitoring.

Use of the service

You may use Icontest to check any public URL that you have the right to access. The tool is provided as a diagnostic utility, not as a security scanner, load tester, or monitoring service. You agree not to use Icontest to probe services for vulnerabilities or to submit URLs in a manner that would constitute harassment or abuse of the target server.

No warranties

This tool is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Icontest reports what it observes from its network vantage point — the results are not guaranteed to match what every browser or device will see, because icon selection depends on the browser, operating system, and resolution. The scanning infrastructure operates within a Cloudflare Workers runtime and cannot reach hosts that are also behind Cloudflare; those hosts will report as unreachable rather than as closed or missing.

Limitation of liability

Icontest is a diagnostic tool, not a critical infrastructure component. The operator shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the service, including but not limited to decisions made based on scan results, the unavailability of the service, or the cost of alternative diagnostic methods.

Billing

What you purchase

Icontest sells two products, both one-time purchases with no subscription or recurring charge:

• Per-scan: $0.50 for a single URL scan. Each scan checks every icon declared in the page head plus the root-fallback paths (/favicon.ico and /apple-touch-icon.png).
• 50-scan bundle: $20 for 50 scans ($0.40 per scan). Scans never expire. Each scan covers one URL and checks every declared icon plus root fallbacks.

Billing period

Both products are one-time purchases. There is no subscription, no trial period, and no recurring billing. Once purchased, scans are drawn from your balance. The 50-scan bundle is use-it-when-you-need-it — there is no expiry or renewal.

Payment processing (current state)

No payment processor is connected to this service today. The checkout form on the pricing page is a demonstration. No real payment is taken, no customer data is collected, and no purchase is created. When a payment processor is connected in the future, this section will be updated with the provider name and the specific terms that apply to credit card or digital wallet transactions.

Failed payments (forward-looking)

Once a payment processor is connected, if a charge attempt fails the customer will be notified by email (if provided at checkout) and given the opportunity to retry with a different payment method. For per-scan purchases, the scan will not run until payment clears. For bundle purchases, the bundle will not be added to your account until payment clears. Declined charges will not result in any service disruption because service is never delivered before payment is received — Icontest does not offer post-paid or deferred billing.

Refund policy

Because scans are delivered instantly in your browser, all purchases are final once results are displayed. If you purchased a bundle and have not used any scans, a refund may be issued at the operator's discretion on a case-by-case basis. To request a refund, contact the operator using the contact information listed on this page.

Price changes

Stated prices on the pricing page are subject to change. Purchases made at an earlier price are honoured at that price — changing the listed price does not retroactively affect previous purchases.

Intellectual property

The Icontest name, logo, and site design are provided with the service. The scan results are factual observations about third-party URLs and are not owned by the operator. The operator makes no claim of copyright over the content of scanned pages or icons.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the revision. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
